Maxell UR will make a pretty good recording, especially if you have a deck that can cal specifically to that tape.
If you don't want to deal with sourcing new-old-stock tapes from the bay, check out National Audio Company. They still sells both true-chrome and cobalt-doped type II tapes. They are actually pretty good tapes. From their offereings, the cobalt-doped tapes are best bang for the buck, IMHO.
