I can’t find much information on the Yamaha NS-650.:music: Does anyone know how they stack up against the NS-670 or NS-690?:scratch2:

From the Japanese Heritage page :

NS 690

There are three versions of the NS 690.

I have only the first version.

There is also a less known NS xxT series .

I have a NS 70 T set.

The NS 670 are some very nice sounding spkrs. I have not heard the NS 650. Its in the same family of the NS models that were produced during that era so its possible that it too shares the others NS's sound traits which is crystal clear very detailed music reproduction, flaws and all. Those look very nice. Enjoy.

The NS-650's are quite impressive. I like the fact that they are tri-wire. I am getting ready to take a trip, but once I return I will use a few Bryston 2b-lps with them and see how it sounds. I will likely change the capacitors after I listen to them for a while. They are impresive to the point that I am thinking I need to get a pair of 1000's or 2000's to check out.:thmbsp:

NS 670 are very good sounding speakers, i own a pair and like them but the woofers can be overpowered fairly easily.

I prefer mine with a powered subwoofer and my Marantz 2270 but they sound great with a variety of different receivers....just dont expect much efficiency and loud bass...they have their limitations but are very accurate.
