Here's another hint/trick
CL will scale the uploaded image to fit their box on the page, but it doesn't seem to reduce the original file size. So if you "right click" on the image and hit "open image in new tab" (for Chrome - similar I'm guessing for FF or IE) then you can sometimes see a much larger image - and you can zoom.
