Yammie question

Hi Everyone!
I'm new to the forum, but bought my first CR620 back in '77 along w/
Infinity Qb's and NS670s. I still have them. I purchased a CR1020 on ebay
a few years ago and it is still rockin' ( though it needs a tune up )

I'm in search of more power as I'm getting some more infinitys and possibly
Polk SDAs.

My question is related to the amount of power necessary to run these speakers and the ability of 1020 ( or even a 2020) to drive them well.
I would love to get (2020 or 3020!), but do they have power required?

Should I just get a power amp and hook into my 1020? I've heard that if I do that, I will lose the "natural sound" of the yammie amp circuit.

... If I go this route, any recommendations on brand, model #s power requirements, etc?

I saw a yammie P2200 600w commercial amp on CL. Would that work?
Or is it overkill?

Thank you!!
Ed

That would work nice..Overkill..:scratch2: Not in my vocabulary.:D

you could also look into an integrated... CA-2010 for example, but if you're going after power - I think that CL amp will do the trick! Any number of Yamaha separates are available to maintain the "natural sound" at higher power levels than a receiver. Don't discount the 2020 though - I have one playing now - and it has more power then I'll ever use in my living room.

A 1020 is not enough power for you
I need to party with you or else you live in an old Gymnasium
More is always better
Like we used to say in my drag racing days
Speed costs money , how fast do you want to go?

I know what you mean, I'm a gearhead and live by the axiom "the only substitute for cubic inches is cubic money" ! ( or cubic wattage??)

I may have scored an R2000 today - do you think that's up to the challenge
or should I go after and M70-80 or PC2606?

Thanks!
