Amplifier advice

I currently have a CX-1000 preamp and a MX-630 amp which I am happy with. A MX-1000 might be available for a good price. Would this be a significant upgrade in terms of sound? Other options may be suggested as well.

I mainly listen to vinyl (60%) and CD (40%). I can't afford "ledgendary" pieces such as MX-2000. I am a little hesistant to go to the B1/B2 series due to long term parts issues.

Your advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Bob

I'm biased, as I've been happy running multiple CX-1000/MX-1000 combinations for about 30 years, so I'm no help.

I will never pass up a good Yamaha amp for a good price. That being said there are people here with much more knowledge than me.

The Yamaha amps are known for clean, low distortion sound. In my experience the more reserve power the better my speakers sound.

Example: cr-800 ~45 wpc to pairs of Yamaha ns-a77 and ns-a99 speakers sounds good for what they are. Running the same amp and thru my m-60 is night and day difference and sounds incredible. (More headroom?)

I am not sure the wpc on the 630 but i would think you would see a difference.
