I may have a chance to get Kenwood model 500 or 600, what's the good price? Are there any issues or anything that I should know?

Cosmetics matter.
Poor condition: $150~$200
Excellent Condition: $400~$700
The four large power supply caps have a very high failure rate and are a bit of a bitch to replace. Nothing on this unit (except for the regulated supply board) is easy to work on. The 500 & 600 need an tech that knows how to get the job done without destroying the stock wire-wrap.

why bother with the stock wire wrap? Just wrap it once & solder it.
