Which integrated? Yamaha or Marantz?

Looking to upgrade from my Marantz SR4021 receiver. 80wpc. I bought it for $76 and it sounds good, I just have a hard time accepting that it does sound good since I bought it dirt cheap, it was $449 new in 2007.

Been looking at Marantz PM6005 and Yamaha A-S501. Wondering if they will be a big enough improvement?

Thoughts?

First of all, you're comparing apples to oranges.

The Marantz PM6005
Power 45wpc
S-N Ratio 102dB
Freq Response 10Hz to 70kHz

Yamaha S501
Power 85wpc
S-N Ratio 99dB
Freq Response 20Hz to 20kHz

From the specs, which is from Crutchfield's website, I would go with Marantz. Also, Marantz will give you a warmer sound. But then again, this is my opinion and what you are asking for.
