Hi Guys,
I'm able to buy a used Mac 1700 for €400,-, but the story is, that there is no power cable attached to it, so I'd have to get it repaired (or maybe do it myself). I live in Europe, but it's an American version, so 110v. Do you think this is a good deal?
I'm thinking that maybe the current owner found it at a thrift shop, found out it was an incorrect power cable plug, and tries to solder a new european plug to it. Off course that would have failed, renderng the amp unusable. (Maybe I'm just paranoid) Even if this would be the case, would it be fixable? Would there be a way to check it with either my bare eyes, or a circuit meter?
If this is all hopeless, I might save up for a better McIntosh...
Thanks!
