Sony TA1120 vs TA1140 vs Sansui 555a or Sansui 317

Hello all,

I'm trying to find more info about this Sony TA1140 I may be able to get. What I'm curious about is someone is offering a TA1120 for 3 times as much money. I didn't think it's worth 3 times the money. But I'm not familiar with either TA1120 or TA1140.

What about as compared to the 555a or 317? Would the TA1120 be that much of an improvement? I'm not too concerned about power output per channel as I only run bookshelves and shorter 3 ways (8" woofer max but usually 4-6"). Would the TA1140 be that much worse than the 1120? How's the 1140's performance as compared to the 555a or the 317?

I have a long time the sansui au 505, and the sony ta 1120. What I can say is that the Sony 1120 is far superior in quality and sound, the other models of Sony in 1130, 1140 suffered cost-cutting at the time. The Sony was the first transistor amplifier in the world, and don´t have at the time of its manufacture around 1966 economy in design or manufacturing.was made to make the Mac market
