Yamaha CD-S2000 connection confusion

I know that the CD-S2000 is a SACD but unlike my other players there are no multi channel analogue outputs or iLink or even HDMI am i to assume that multi channel is via balanced outputs ?

or is this a SACD player that only does stereo ?

I'd wager only stereo - same as my Sony 5400...

Or you could use the digital out with a 7.1 receiver.

I think the digital out will output two channel audio.

Depends...the 5400 does 5.1 via hdmi iirc.

No one can read the yamaha manual online and figure this out ?

I'm fairly confident that CD-S2000 only outputs two channel via the coaxial out.

The CD-S2000 is stereo only and will only read the SACD stereo layer on the disc. The SACD has to use the RCA or Balanced analogue outputs. CD (redbook) can use the CD-S2000 internal DAC and play through the RCA or Balanced analogue outputs or it can be connected to an external DAC through the coaxial or optical digital outputs.

No. The CD-S2000 cannot read the surround sound layer of the disc.
