Pioneer PL-115D cueing problem

Hi,
I recently picked up a Pioneer PL-115D in the box and fixed a problem i was having with the reset functions not working. Now that I have that squared away I am having trouble with the cueing. It doesn't drop the tonearm down smoothly, it just simply drops as fast as the lever is lowered. I know that this isn't right from reference videos I have seen on youtube. Reference video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=5nedLGVx5KA#t=68

I also took my own video of the problem so that you may see what I am talking about a little bit better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-R5ibPKkAJ4

I have access to both the owners manual and service manual for reference. any help would greatly be appreciated, I can take more pictures and videos if necessary. Thanks!

Looks like it needs damping fluid in the cylinder that contains the shaft that lowers/raises the tonearm. Usually accessible from the bottom, may or may not show how in the manual. Someone with a 115 or similar TT will be able to tell you more.

That is correct. You need a silicone shock/deferential oil for miniature car models with weight 100,000-300,000 cst.

I've used 300,000 cst on my PL-514 and 100,000 on PL-5, worked perfect.
You can mix them together to get desired thickness.

You can find it at Amazon, Ebay, or local model/hobby stores.
