Best Mid Range x50 Series?

Yo guys,

So I am thinking at some point of putting together a pretty decent living room setup. This will probably be in about a year or so when I move out of my present apartment. What I want to setup would be an all Pioneer system running 4 HPM 100s, turntable (PL570 or something of the like), probably a cassette deck, EQ, and maybe a reverb amp. I want to go with a x50 series receiver, but what would you guys recommend for a good middle of the road one? Particularly one that would be relatively easy to work on in that series?

SX 850 if you can find one.....
SX 950 if you want to pay an arm and a leg.....
SX 750 can be found at very reasonable prices.

1050! Enough power to run the four HPM's and not to expensive if found broken.

4 HPM 100, that deserves an SX-1980 :)

You might be better off with 2 smaller units and use one as a power amp to power the second pair of HPMs.

Even though some folks do not recommend to do it, but hear goes
950 or 1050 and as a minimum change, the output transistors to newer Onsemi MJ2119x, will be sure to drive 4x 8 ohm speakers, no problems.
I had my 950 driving 8 and 4 ohm pairs no problem with new o/p bjts. The old stock bjts bit the dust on one channel, years ago, so I changed them to older MJ15003/4 and problems solved.
You should be able to scoop a 950 for around ~200.
