Sansui Seven vs G 5000

I have a Sansui Seven and it rocks the living room with Realistic Nova RS8 :thmbsp:
Have a chance to buy a Sansui G 5000 at a decent price.

Both are from same era, early 70s.
Feature wise both are very comparable but not sure of sound quality. If there is much of a difference then I can consider buying G 5000 to try out, otherwise totally happy with the seven.

Any advice from someone who heard both receivers?

I have a Six, a Seven, had a G5700 and have a G971... Keep the 7. It's superior to the 5000.

Frankly the only reasons to move from the 7 would be an 8 Deluxe, 9090 or one of the big Gs (9000, 9700).

I had an 8. It was nice. I have two G5000's and a G7000. They are nicer in my opinion. Really depends on speakers, music type, volume, room acoustics, and personal preference. The G5000 with my Pinnacle AC800's is amazing.

hmmm...I might just go take a look at the G5000 on CL. The seven is not going away but G5000 might get some rack time or sold to a friend who thinks Bose is the defacto name in sound.
