Kenwood GE7030 forgets settings

My Kenwood GE7030 equalizer forgets its settings when it is switched off (and disconnected from power) after about a week or two. It basically goes back to factory default settings when it happens. I don't see any battery for the memory in the schematics, so I don't know why it is doing that.

Any ideas?

Could be a super capacitor. Something like 5V and 0.47 Farad (no prefix to the F).

Yep- could be a super-cap (acts like a battery). Look for a cap that is a funny color when you open the unit up-usually they stand out.

That's what I thought too, but I don't see a (gold) cap anywhere on the PCB.

I also can't seem to find a super-cap in the schematics…

(puzzled)

Manual says that the unit uses power when in standby to preserve memory. Maybe this unit does not have a memory for when there is no power.
