Cleaning up my Kenwood

Hi All,
I need some advise and I am sure this is the place.
I want to restore the shine of my KA-3500 and tuner.
Suggestions on cleaning up the units inside and out are most appreciated.

When you get to the part where the faceplate and knobs are off, clean em up before putting em back on.

Echowars, one our noted gurus, has always suggested the use of good quality car wax on the front panel and exterior. It leaves a nice shine and last for a long time as well as protecting the surface.

Well, I believe in starting off gentle and escalating slowly from there if that doesn't get the job done. Car wax, and if there are still stains/issues, I'll go to light-duty rubbing compound, and finish again with wax.

Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish is also decent, but seems to be a PITA to find around here.
