I watched that auction on the 'bay from minute one. I even told a friend about it who has fairly deep pockets to grab those pieces. He said he doubted that they would fetch the opening bid! As the owner of an almost exclusively vintage Yamaha system, I was fully aware of these landmark components. I would stack that amp up against anything on the market today, even the best of the best. Yamaha made a statement with those pieces and (as I'm sure you know) you are a very lucky man!! For a person that knows the quality of Yamaha, and has lusted about those models, I would feel fortunate just to hear them. It is a shame about the amp's faceplate damage, I would definately ask for a considerable amount of money to partially compensate you  . Never-ever even seen any of those for sale before. Thank you so much for sharing the pic's, what a cool thing to see!! As a footnote, my brother had the CD-1 dual drawer CD player. It was Yamaha's first CD player. It is such a smooth sounding, high quality unit that it still holds it's own amongst high end CD's of today. Congratulations on acquiring those dream components :thmbsp:
