I've always liked the Fuji tapes including the type 1. In fact when I have had batches of sealed tapes, I will usually sell the Maxells before the Fuji and come out ahead IMO.

notice it has the cro2 in bracketts which i take to mean recommended an they are not chromium tapes.
I think that BASF was one of the only ones who actually had real chromium dioxide tapes. Tdk maxell and others used other formulations that had similar characteristics (bias and EQ).
