Yamaha ca-410

I have a CA-400. I'm not sure if the 410 is the same, but one of its "quirks" was that it had pre-out jacks, but not "Main in". So, the internal amp will still be driven. There's different schools of thought on this, but I don't think its a good idea to run an amp with no load. Some SS designs are more forgiving than others.

CA-410 or CA-410II? Pretty sure there is no pre out/main in on the CA-410II. I can tell you fo' sho' there are none on the CA-610II (although the earlier CA-600 did have that capability built in).

The CA-410 manual is available through the archive. See: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=154865&highlight=yamaha
Looks like no pre out/main in.

Now, you can always use the input selector control (and the phono preamp) via the tape out jacks, but you won't get the tone controls, filters, mono mode, balance or volume control.
