I have an MR77 connected to an AUX input of my MX130 preamp. I am using the variable output on the tuner. In order to get equal audio levels when switching between the MR77 and the MX130 internal tuner, the MR77 level control must be at the "90%" position. Is this normal? How would I check to see if the overall gain of the MR77 is correct or low?

Thanks

I use to run my MR-77 around 2:30 on the dial to match my Ortofon and about the same with my Revoxs, Nakamichi, and Ampexs with C-28, C29. But that doesn't mean the same thing with the MX-130. As long as you don't hear any distortion or imbalance between channels I would not worry. I have forgotten: does a MX-130 have trim controls on each input? If you don't have a owners manual. Check HiFi Manuals.com.
