My local electronics fixit guy tells me (and has shown) that the problem with the receiver is this flat cable that goes from the function switch (front of receiver) to the the actual switch (back of receiver) is broke. I have checked it out and it is broke.

Anybody know where I can get even a used one? What about another solution?

Thanks in advance.

Here are a few. I took it apart to see if I can fix it but it's very detailed. The flat band acts like a cable. Sorta like a bicycle brake or auto throttle cable with the inside sliding back and forth when the knob is turned. Then actuating the switch at the other end.

The guys at oaktree village are selling off some R1000 carcass parts off. These switches wear out on the Yamaha if used often first showing intermittent and need to be toyed with then they finally break . I have a R1000 not being used that was just tuned up in September I can sell as complete receiver replacement if you want. The tuner battery is new also.

Clinic-audio, It looks to be right at 37 cm. I believe it a bit shorter but not by more than like 2.5-3.5 cm. I measured the black sleeve only. not the whole assembly. Velocityboat, I'll keep that in mind.

Edit: Velocityboat, how do I get a hold of these oaktree village people?
