So with all the fake SanKen transistors out there does anyone have info on suitable replacements for use in Yamaha P2200/2201 amplifiers?
I am not in need at the moment but it would be nice to have some spares on hand.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello !

2SA909 can be replaced by 2SB645
2SC1586 can be replaced by 2SD665

Original does exist for 2SA909 and 2SC1586

MJ21193G (PNP)
MJ21194G (NPN)

Bought from a reliable, major supplier (Digikey, Mouser, Avnet, Newark). Anything else is asking for trouble and frustration.

Sanken recommends these as replacements for those transistors. Both are available at Digikey.

EDIT: Looks like these come in a different case, perhaps the data sheets can be helpful.

Those are suggestions for NEW DESIGN, where you might have an option of ditching the TO-3 form factor for the MT-200. It's not really an option when you have an already-built piece running TO-3's. Sanken's grand total of devices available in the TO-3 package is precisely zero.

To bad Sanken ditched the TO-3 case.

I hope On Semi does not stop making them. I think they may be the only ones left.
