That's good news, gents. As I posted, I'm one of those oddball fans of Detroit. I like and follow the Tigers, I like and follow the Lions. I know metro Detroit extremely well, and have been there countless times on business and a little pleasure (Casinos and DTE Concerts and Ball Games). I saw a special on one of the late night TV shows featuring Detroit and how young urban professionals from other cities are buying space in downtown Detroit simply because it is so inexpensive. These people are helping revitalize the city. That's a very good thing.
What amazed me is when I'd drive from Flint to Burton and then Grand Blanc how rapidly the "scenery" would change, if you know what I mean. In a matter of a 1/2 mile it was a very different "culture".
I'm really glad Flint is rebounding. If you look at areas like Clarkston, Grand Blanc, and even Frankenmuth (I know that's a bit far north), then you really see that anything is possible.
I'll definitely check out "The Soggy Bottom" next time I am in town. For sure. I was just there last week. I wish I had known a bit sooner, I would have popped up for some music and fun.
Thanks.
