Hi all,
I know the setting is -40 for the bias, but all you Fisher guy's
have you found a better setting for better sound and care of the
tubes :scratch2:

This is a cathode biased unit. The tubes all have cathodes in series. Nothing could be gentler on the output tubes.
Better sound? What's the problem? I'd be hard pressed to find anything that sounds better than my X-101-C. It's in my reference system right now.
V1 & V2 - Amperex Bugle Boy 12AX7s
V3 & V4 - RCA or GE triple mica black plate 5751s. Can't recall which.
V5 & V6 - Sylvania long pinched plate JAN 12AX7s.
V7 through V10 Westinghouse 7591s.

No nothing wrong, I just wanted to know if you guy's had any different settings
for it, it really sounding real nice now always looking to make better if we can.

Thanks

Proper voicing would be some combination of output coupling caps and preamp tubes at this point. That is, assuming you're using good speakers like your Celestions and your room is OK.

The Celestion's are another story, these amps I have the 299A mod2 and the Fisher
are bringing out the speakers true nature, when played kinda loud there a problem
with the metal domes of the 100's they bring out the coarse and grainy nature of
the low treble, the Celestion SL6's with the Copper domes they may be smooth in
nature but the really excel at times with tube stuff, the Aluminum domes have that
untamed nature.
