Now Here is a Real JBL........

Hardly JBL L100 anymore, but they may sound just fine. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut on occasion.

No doubt we've all seen considerably more speculative and less decent appearing modifications of well-known speakers.

Yeah- agreed-who knows how they sound.
I agree with changing the tweeter.....not a Ti fan.

Even the replacement woofers have some stains or something going on ...
ridiculous that he expects the factory xover to support those non-stock drivers ...
non-stock, no grills and 4325? he's DREAMIN'!!

yeah,
You don't want to get those cloth edge surrounds wet, or damp, and they go away quickly, especially old ones.
I recently had to re-edge a 12" cloth surround DLK woofer (cone was fine-no staining) because the surround had gotten damp somehow-it had some weird white spots on it, and was causing voice coil rub.
These woofers are actually very good-if you use them in the right size box.
Actually cloth edge woofers have a much more linear piston movement then rubber-foam is a close second.
