Tad 11 What a difference a day makes

We'll make that a few days at this point.

I purchased a tube dac 11 to serve a couple of purposes.

I have a the Fisher 400, one of it's weaknesses is inputs, 1 aux in hi and low phono (really noisy ones in my case) and a tape mon that is somehow linked to the phono stage, not good.

My sources are

Phono with emotive xps-1
Sonos Connect coax digital in nas based library
Airplay via airport express optical in
Hi Res Flacs via USB off a Mac

I got my TD 11 and immediately rolled the tube to a NOS Mullard EC88 Blackburn version.

Hooked up the sonos and tt and gave a listen.

Horribly sibilant no bottom end I really didn't expect it to be this bad at least the sound stage was decent.

So I turned off the amp and fed it a stream of digital files via the sonos overnight and during the next day.

Got home that evening and turned it off for an hour to give it a break.

Then I fired it back up and started to queue up some vinyl.

Definately better but still some sibilance that was harsh.

During the course of the evening things started to improve an by the end of a couple of hours the improvement as pretty drastic.

I gave another night and day of the sonos stream with the amp off and then gave it another break when I got home last night and then went thru another listening session where I found the sibilance to have disappeared and the bottom end to have filled in as I hoped it would.

Another evening of the sonos treatment and today has been fantastic.

So when they say to give it time to burn in they mean it.
