A couple weeks ago I picked up a CR-620 from a guy on craigslist. It was in perfect cosmetic shape and the price was right, but at the time of purchase I only tested it on the aux and phono inputs.
I just now plugged it in again to try the functions and discovered a couple issues:
1) The FM tuner does not work. AM seems to work fine, but there is no sound when the FM band is selected. The tuning meters also do not move on FM. I can also hear quiet crackling when I turn the tuner knob...
2) There is a slight hiss in the left channel on all inputs when the volume control is all the way down. Its volume is affected by the loudness control, and pushing the HF filter button in makes it louder. Turning on mono causes it come through both channels. The right channel is silent. I suspect there's a fault in the hi filter circuit
Any ideas what to check?
