Free Dual CS-512

Ok.

So about a week ago at work I was installing a new doorbell display. It had to be gutted because otherwise it might be too heavy for the double sided tape to to hold it up. So the circuit board, hammer solenoid, tone-bars and tone-bar isolators were removed. These isolators otherwise garbage, happened to end up in my pocket.thought perhaps they could be used for something.

So when I learned that I needed a steuerpimple I got to thinking about these isolators.

I cut one to length and bored a 1/8 hole into it with a drill bit and installed it into the peg. So far so good but it looks lime I might have to shorten it. But first, I'll cut off the collar or stepped portion you see in the pic. The pic also shows the scrap piece cut off. The 'collar' seems to be binding against the metal lift arm and not allowing the head to reach the end of the record. I think. It was against the lift arm when running it through its paces manually.

ADDITIONALLY, I got the lift-lever to work. Previous owner had backed off completely the screw visible on the top adjacent to the tone arm pivot. Underneath, this screw raises and losers the left-arm pivot point (it was completely lowered). As such, the little finger at the gimble that lifts the arm had to be adjusted for proper operation.

So my home made steuerpimple (sp?) isn't doing thr trick but I might found a new one. Came off the tip(s) of a long handled bbq fork.

This one is working better but I think I need to shorten it just a little; it looks like it is going to drop the needle at the beginning, but then just before drops it swings in a little more. It'll have to wait till tomorrow :(

Been using this table primarily for a few months steady.

All of a sudden, all of the auto functions work properly :)

Glad to see it all worked out. Not as familiar with later models like yours. Did get a 601 to play with. Swoped a 1219. Got $50 and the 601. Now needs a stuerpimple. Sounds pretty good. Lives in the shop. Has the motor speed issue that pops up from time to time. Once gone over, Dual's work pretty well. My latest is a 1229 off Eprey. Lacked platter, base, and headshell. All of which I have. Cleaned up nice. Have about 15 hrs on it with no problems. Enjoy yours.
