Yup. nothin like a directional parabolic dish to make for a kickass antenna. YOu could use an antenna like that to suck in wireless signals like crazy. I used to snatch open wifi with an antenna like that. Line of sight was more than a mile !

Well, it isn't exactly a $10 TV transmitter. It's a $10 reflector for a low-power studio-transmitter link. Still a cool idea. Should do better than a Pringles can waveguide.

Actually,
I've picked up several of the single satellite DirecTV and Dish 18" dishes off the curbside. Now that everybody wants multi-sat oval dishes, the singles are easy "Roadside Recovery". Make great directional wi-fi. That's how I get wireless LAN to my shop from the house. BTW, the price is $0.00.
