First,
I will say Thank You to All, fo rthe nice and informative comments
The Switch is only a Switch, no more -> can be replace with better one, in the same Size and same Look, no Problemo.
Onplane,
The Original was in the same Highment and I use again the same Hardpaper-Gaskets, to glue the new Sourrounds on it. Under the Chassis-Edge, is indeed a soft, grey Foam. Its important to be there for a good Air-Isolation ( Suspension ? ).
Iff I try to push the Membrane-Cone In/Back,(gently and centered ),
I can feel the Strenght in compressing Air in a Box. Tight!
AND:
I compare with a Marantz 2270 2 Pairs of Speakers.
- Tannoy, Little Red Monitor ( SRM12B )
- Acoustic Research, AR-6 ( EU-Version? )
PLUS:
Tannoy is a bit more unforgiving and present the whole Range, but no enough
Deep. Have used Stand with ~4 Inch in high. Better than directly on the Floor.
The Optimum should be between 35-45". ( for my own use ).
The Adjustment Pots are very fine and good doing the Job.
MINUS:
- The Sweet Listening Point is pretty small. One feet left or right, You loose.
The Deep is missing at normal Volume. I have to take the "Loudness" Function.
- Its clean and bright sounding, without the Grills.
AR-6:
PLUS:
- Reel Live Feeling of the Image. Dezent and discret. Never too busy.
- Little, small Cabinet.
- Very good Positioning in Corners ~ 1m over the Floor.
- Good WAF, between "... oh so little and nice" and "...is there Anybody in the Kitchen??" ( livesounding Atmosphere )
MINUS:
- Have only one Pair ;-))
- Hard to find in Switzerland in this good Shape.
BTW: My Refoamjob was a Pleasure

First Time, I not cut the Dustcone away. Only from 8:00 - 16:00 O-Clock.
I let a bit Paper alone. Then moisture the Bending-Zone with warm Water. Then bend slowly up, until the VC is present. Shims? YES! Have tryed 4 Visitcards, before I found the right Thickness. Then after the Sourround was drying good, I bend back the Dustcone and glued back, exactly in the same Position. For keepin down, I use a Easter-Egg of Stone, that fit perfect in Diameter

Imagine that Picture
ps: I wish, I better understand American Language, to make the Prozess clearer and more plaisant for You. Maybe after the Summer_07?
Anyway - The AR-6 are very lovely, little Keepers!
Have a nice Weekend,
Darko
