University Medallion Monitor Mystery Speakers

Hi,

Does anyone know anything about University Medallion Monitor floor speakers? I bought a pair a while ago and I have not been able to find out much. I tried opening the backs to see what was inside, but I could not pry off the back cover without damaging the wood, so I left it alone.

The fronts are removeable, but I cannot get them off either. They are on there very tight. Argh! I listened to them with my dynaco tube system and they sounded pretty good. Can someone on the list enlighten me as to what's inside and if they are worth anything?
