Marantz 2325 Power Supply Capacitors

HF-89

New Member
I have a Marantz 2325 in excellent condition other than one of the main power supply capacitors has a visible leak. The unit operates fine, but I am reluctant to use it until this has been corrected. The problem I face is finding a suitable replacement pair. I have a pair of snapins, but I do not want to modify (cut) the wiring to accomodate the different hardware structure. Any ideas where a suitable pair can be had? I would entertain using a used unit from a parts rig if the factory spec part is unavailable. Thanks...

Hello, caps with this dimensions are still a industry standard. Look for 100Vdc 'computer grade' caps with 15.000 - 22.000uF and the M5 screw terminals. 70-80Volt types may be hard to obtain, but more voltage or/and more capacity won't hurt the 2325.
If you find an offer on ebay, ask the seller for the production date of the caps !!

Are you sure that the cap is leaking? Glue was used to hold the caps in place.
Is the 'leak' from the bottom of the cap? If so, it's a good chance that it's glue not a leaking cap.

I am quite sure, judging from the small hole in the soft plug on the capacitor that it has erupted it's contents.
I have been through a lot of web pages and pdf files and not found a suitable replacements. The search goes on...

Thanks BoulderBros, I'll get some ordered. I hate to see such a nice receiver sitting on the shop floor with nothing to do...
