Best way to tighten $!@&* speaker terminals

Is there an easy way to tighten the stupid Mac speaker terminals on a MC2102.
All the speaker terminals on the back of the MC2102 are VERY close together and when use use speaker wire with spades, you can only seem to finger tighten them. Unlike previous amps, you cant tighten them with a spanner, nor would there be any room to get one in between each spaker tap.

I can't seem to finger tighten them tight enough and the spades can seemingly be moved resonably easy.

Mac stuff is great, however the design of the speaker terminals suks big time.

any help would be great.

You are no help Howie :D

Unfortunately, due to the fact I run the MC2102's parallel monoblock, I need the banana connections for the parallel bit. And my speaker cables are only spades.
 
Looks like getting banana plugs is a worthwhile effort here.

May I suggest a pair of very small channel locks (I have a teeny pair) wrapped in electrical tape for the final twist?

Are those WBT? Can you stick an allen wrench into the banana end or something? I thought I saw that somewhere.

They are not WTB. I called one time to ask. I was trying to find if a certain spade would fit.
 
Good to know they are using WBT knockoffs. They are available very reasonably for DIY project.

One other possible option. There are some gloves you can get with rubber tipped fingers. You should be able to get enough torque to get them tight!

heres what I did for the maggies as they accept bare wire or bananas only... they are bananas which accept the spade to be locked in the middle of them. Do they affect the sound? I dunno, cant attach the spades directly to compare...

RE: the "very small channel locks":

You paid premium dollars for a top of the line product. I know I'm being boringly straightforward, but couldn't you just call Chuck Hinton at McIntosh Technical Support on Monday, and ask him how they suggest you tighten the binding posts securely without defacing them? (As mentioned on Pg. 10 of your Owner's Manual)

If we give you advice which doesn't work out, and you mess up your amp, we're not liable :no: :D
