Kenwood 3300D components

I bought brand new back in 1988 some high-end Kenwood components consisting of:
KA-3300D Integrated amp
KT-3300D Digital tuner
DP-3300D CD
All are in the original boxes with original manuals and remotes

My Question is they have been packed away for 5yrs and Im looking at putting them on E-bay. Would they better sold as a set or separately?
And what is the pricing for these?
I've been told $300+ for the amp
$250 for the tuner
$300 for the CD
Are these prices accurate?

I Also have a pair of JBL L-100T in great shape, but can't find recent pricing for these either

Thanks, Analog1

Here's some info about the JBLs. I don't turn up any sales of those Kenwood pieces on eBay in the last month, so I'm not sure what to tell you there. That doesn't mean they aren't worth what you say, or that they are. When I google them, I seem to be coming up with more European results than American, fwiw.

If you sell them, I would say your best bet is to take great pictures, and see if there are good reviews on audioreview.com to cite and/or link to.

Good luck!

Also, welcome to AK, especially if you plan to hang around for longer than to just find out the value of your current gear. I think you'll find it's a good place :thmbsp:

Thanks mswer! That's some great info on the L-100T.

Looks like there's still a healthy market for these speakers...good news.

Now I just need to find more info on the Kenwoods so I can put together a decent E-bay presentation.

Thanks again, Analog1

A complete set in good quality is always worth more to the collector. Could you post some pics or specs about the Kenwoods. You might get better advice as to price. Heck, you might get an offer.

I have this info that was posted on another forum:

KA-3300D was $1199new in 1987-89, 150wpc(looks like their top unit).

KT-3300D(FM only) was $525, same years of manufacture as above(seems this was their 3# all-models tuner).

DP-3300D was $850new, same years, #2 all-models CDP).

As for photos....I need a good digital camera...cell phone won't cut it.

I sold my KA-3300D for 650.00 last year. Though not the top model it sits right next to it. The lesser 1100 and to some degree the 880 also sell a bit higher than their other lines. If mint you got something there. There are those who love KW's "DLD" and even though it's AD converter is older it still sounds sweet when running straight digital from your DAT or CD player. In my mind that amp was one of if not the best KW of the period. Awesome looking beast. I think I posted pics of mine on this forum (AK)I had all three for a time.

Of them all I miss that one most. If I wasn't up to my eyeballs in gear right now I'd pay you top dollar for that amp.

If you haven't figured it out by now I love that Kenwood Amp. . . Don't give it away. Take some glamour shots and post it at a high price lest someone think something is wrong with it. . .

Thanks for the info all.

I know where your coming from gyusher, that amp is beautiful both asthetically and acoustically. Your experience selling yours is the only info I've found on what these amps could sell for, thank you

I just hope they find good homes.....I feel like I'm selling puppies.

I don't know if I'm breaking any forum rules, but as a preview audio-heritage has this info at least on KA-3300D. Other components are probably somewhere there, as well. I just got this amp recently, and I don't see much info on it, but I love it, too. I also have JBL L-100t (got them before the amp), and seems like this match was made in Heaven. :music:

Thanks for the link mrkoder, yeah I have to agree about the KA-3300D and L100T match up. Classical music maybe not they're forte, bit some rock or anything with a good beat and they just come alive.

I think the amp's output was well matched to the speakers sensitivity and 12" woofer.

I have yet to hear from someone who has owned this amp and didn't seem to love it.

Yeah. Those 72,000 uF of the amp can really shake those woofers. Somebody, from another forum, sent me a link
for the cd player that's on ePay in Canada now, although, it's japanese model. Judging by the description, are components of this line/model considered "rare" or hard to find? I think I saw more references from european ebay and some japanese sites to these ones than from US sources.

Yeah I've been watching the CD player with interest, no bids yet though.

That's what's so hard about putting rare equipment up on ebay, not enough people are going to know anything about them, so good bidders may be hard to come by.

And the people who do know what they're worth may not be in the market at the time.

We'll see I guess.....
