Now I think I am really in trouble as I have finally found a Mac speaker which I prefer over all other previous models, the XRT1K !! Time to sell my Dynaudios perhaps :scratch2:? The XRT2K didnt do it for me, and it is not a matter of budget. But these XRT1K is something else, they were really smooth and relaxed....... May be I should give Mike a call in the morning ? :scratch2:
Or may be the sound was coming from the turntable ? or could it be the tube magic of the MC275 ?
I spent quite a bit of time at the Mac room, and literally EVERYONE was talking about the turntable. I will not be exaggerating if I say there was a lot of people talking about this "controversal" piece of Mac gear. I hear conversations in the lobbies, hallways, and other exhibitors' rooms. How hot is the new turntable ? According to Ron-C, McIntosh sells 2x as many turntables as the MC402 in the first few months of production.
The turntable DOES look a lot nicer along side other McIntosh gears. I dont think Michael Fremer was trying to be "politically polite" judging by what he said on Stereophile, I think he meant what said.
A close up photo like this is NOT EASY to take, especially with my limited photographic skills.
