Needs some space to think
I recently picked up a Technics SL-DD22 on the cheap from Craigslist. It was a bit dusty, and certainly is nothing special, but it works fine and is in good shape (albeit missing the dust cover).
My only problem with it is that Technics used some silly (proprietary?) ground plug rather than just using a post or screw. I tried to find something that would fit it but as of yet, I've not succeeded. It looks a great deal like a modern AC adapter plug, with a single thin pin in the middle. I have a few dead/beat-up and unused AC adapted lying around so I checked to see if any of those would fit to make a makeshift ground (by just cutting the plug end off and stripping some of the plastic), but none did. I tried some various audio cables I had around, also to no avail.
I found this Technics ground wire by Googling around, but I can't really tell if it will fit my model, etc.
So, what I'm looking for is suggestions for alternatives for a makeshift ground. My TT is buzzing like hell right now. I imagine I could crack it open and solder something to something, but I don't have a soldering iron. Also, I don't think this cheap table is really worth a mod. Any ideas?
