Technics SP-15, free from local radio station. I made the plinth from two pieces of scrap kitchen countertop material (MDF) glued together. 17 1/2" x 21" x 1 1/2" thick, edged with solid oak trim. The tonearm is a long Rek-O-Cut Trancribe, bought new from Naucks. Although this turntable is currently doing double duty (stereo LPs/45s & 78s) until my new Technics arrives, it's intended primarily for 78 playback. That's a 12" red vinyl 78 spinning in the picture. With that long tonearm, I can play 16" discs.

Here is my humble offering: the Rega P1. It has brought me hours of enjoyment and reintroduced me to vinyl.

I have been very pleased with it, shocked even, since I got it a year or two back. Rock solid, nice sound. I might covet some of those prettier tables I see here, but when the music is playing, I really don't worry about it all that much.......

I have a PL-7 that I will always keep.

I purchased it new when I was 18.

The first LP it played was Elvis Costello "Get Happy!!"
