I think that mine would have to be Forefathers by Dan Fogelberg. Hits me hard because I see my father about once a year.

I heard Gordon on a local sportstalk station of all places about 1 month ago. Can you believe they layed down that track in 1 try?

"The Girl from Ipanema" by Antonio Carlos Jobim. It lulls you into a bit of a trance and then that saxophone comes out of nowhere in the right channel. Gets me every time.
 
Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Louis Lane, on Telarc. This is hands down THE best recording of this piece of music I've heard. All others I've heard are too-fast paced and very thin- sounding. The Telarc/ASO recording is rich and powerful with with superb dimensional information. On any reasonable set-up, this recording throws an awesome soundstage. The horns in this piece never fail to send shivers up my spine, and the long decay of the gong and kettle drum are unbelievable. Think I'll go crank it right now, in fact :music:.
