The Pie!

Any Humble Pie fans out there?

I was listening to my "Rockin' The Fillmore" LP and was reminded of how good of a band they were. Sure, the music is ham-fisted and overly self-indulgent at times (hey, it was the 70's), but they sure knew how to rock! Peter Frampton never played better guitar than when he was in Humble Pie. I also really like "Rock On" (especially side one). "Smokin'" was recorded after Frampton left the band for a solo career, but it is a great album too. I also have a live CD of this later line up that SMOKES! Steve Marriot's between song "talk-singing" is highly irritating, but the music is first rate.

Humble Pie

"I Don't Need No Doctor" Pat the band had balls; Frampton opens up on Live in Detroit sometimes forget this man can play rock-in-roll.

I had Live At The Filmore West when I was 15 back in 72 and wish I still had it. I bought a HP cd but it is pretty bad even though the performances were good. I guess I need to carry it in the truck.

30 Days In The Hole

You've found another Humble Pie fan. Rockin' the Filmore has got to be on the "classic" list. Hallelujah (I Love Her So) is one of Ray Charles' best. To hear Humble Pie do it, well it's just good rock 'n' roll! I've always had a thing for songs that take a whole side, it gives the band a chance to jam.
