Day 2: Another Good Day @ Goodwill

I had this urge to hit the local Goodwill again hoping that they had some more goodies stashed in the back. Here's what I found...

I'm not sure if the tweeter on this one is original as the other speaker does not have a silver trim ring, but man, do these dlk 1.5's sing....I'm completely blown away. The cabinets could stand to be refinished but tonight I wiped them down with a few coats of lemon oil and they cleaned up very nicely. I have them mated to the G8K and spinning some James Taylor. Sweet sounds.:music:

Pretty cool to find some great sounding speaks from a local MN company for a little bit of lunch money.:thmbsp: I wonder what I'll find tomorrow?:scratch2:

The tweeter is original. Its less common for sure, but says DLK on the back. It is a completely different tweeter model. It was shared on Omega models as well, but will no chrome ring.

Very nice condition -- especially the foam baffle.

I don't know anything about dlk speakers but I do know that they sure look like excellent speakers. :yes: Nice find! Enjoy 'em!

Here's the other speaker.....this foam baffle has three minor blemishes which are hardly distracting at all. The tweeter on this one doesn't have the silver trim ring, so is it an original too?

Nor do I, Ultra-Hog, but they sound as good as they look. I'd really like to know what the max wattage is. Any DLKer's know?

Actually, I wish I could too...it's really the only open space that has any decent overhead lighting for pics in our abode downstairs. Easy to move stuff around too- besides it's too cold to take 'em outside in this MN weather!:D

Well, I know he covets them.

I had a set of those for a little while. I lost interest in them because I need lots of air and a little shimmer in my highs, and I think I'm sensitive to comb filtering from the two woogers.

I bet they'd make good 2.5 ways if you could cut off one woofer at about 100hz and let the other run up to spec.
 
maybe it was my pair but while I thought the cabinet work was superb considering it was a house speaker if found them to be incredibly dull and lifeless It's too bad because they were a really good looking speaker sort of like the gorgeous blonde you bring home and oh well ....next :thumbsdn:

Cool, that's the other type. Yes, its original. My first pair of DLK 1.5's had a pair of the silver trimmed ones, smae recessed bezel. I would bet you have a replaced tweeter via a DLK warranty replacement to make them mismatched like that.

Thanks for the info, Dew. Would you know, by chance, what the maximum wattage is for the 1.5's? Odd there is no power rating on the back of 'em. I don't want to get too carried away should I decide to feed them some more 'Sui power. :no:
 
I'll bet the more the better. Clipping is the bad part.

Show them 200w potential and see what *your* max rating is.
