If listening to those 811's the first time made me an Altec fan, listening to these today (well, yesterday as of now) was a whole 'nother level of fun

Not just a pair, 3 LH horns and 3 1005/288 sets. I only had 2 bays up and running because I had a car still in the third bay of the garage...
Pix of the first of the LF horns we unpacked....(Please ignore the stacks of other speakers/consoles/etc piled up in the background. I have this "problem" you see....:nono
I kinda felt like we were exhuming a family of mummies from a dusty old tomb. Seriously, these things have at least 1/8" of thick greasy dust on them. I don't want to even guess how many acres of popcorn added to the mix. The LF horns also have that splatter of screen paint on them. They do have some chips on the some of the edges, but given how old they are and how far they came, I can't complain. The fellow who packed them did an excellent job, and I am going to send him a token of my appreciation...:thmbsp:
I do need him to check to see if the crossover cover is lying around there somewhere. The first of the LF horns is missing this cover.
Anyone wanna guess what the other connections are for here?

Why not just cut a big square hole in two of your garage doors, mount the speakers inside and have the very first "Boom Box House" on your block! Paint the windows up to look like meters, make some shutters that looks like knobs and toggles. (someone photoshop this please) The neighbors will love you.

The neighbors already got a taste....
I'm working up to those pix, but on an ASR-433, 15 or so watts of glorious toob power, I could easily make these get painfully loud at half way down the driveway (~50'), and sweet sounding at the end of the driveway (~100').
However, at the end of the driveway, I started hearing echoes off the neighbor's houses....:nono:
