Yaqin Tube Amplifiers - Fun for Anyone ???

Hi, Tube Folks,

Would you like me to make you laugh :lmao:? Having Sansui, Technics and vintage tube Fisher, I have decided (just for fun :banana:) to give a try to Yaqin MC-10L tube amplifier :music: (looks like it will cost me roughly 70 EURO incl shipping of big 23 kg box, new costs around $600).

Here is specification (from web site):
Manufacturer: Foshan Chancheng Yaqin Sound appliances (China)
Valve: EL34B×4, 6N1×4
output power：≥52W×2（8Ω)
Lose true degree：≤2%(40W) <-- really strange notation for non-linear distortions

Since today's amplifiers (both MOS and lamp) are all manufactured in China, and their retail cost is around tenfold of real OEM price paid to Chinese factory, may be its not so bad after all?

Have anyone used this particular device (or any other by Yaqin company)? What is your opinion? Any comments are very welcome :thmbsp: !

I am also interested in how these work out for people. I was looking on ebay and stumbled across them. From some reviews i have read the MC-84L has a pretty nasty hum to it. Like i said i am interested but not sure i could bring myself to hooking it up to my La Scala's in fear that something bad might happen to them. Keep us all posted on your thoughts.

I agree....not getting the humor either.

I own one piece of Yaqin gear and it is nothing short of excellent. My Cheap Chinese tube preamp beats the sonic pants off of the two US made tube preamps I own on a daily basis.
There are several others on the site who are owners as well. While I have no experience with the Yaqin amps, but based upon the performance of this preamp I would not hesitate to buy one of the amps.
that is if they/it are....
*If it were available from the US or Canada as there are several sellers whom do their own QC on the units before sale and offer after sale warranties.... I'm not sure I want to mess with shipping from China....the same would apply to any new piece of gear I would purchase though*

I've been looking at one of those Chinese tube CD players for around $400. When I get a little extra cash in my pocket I may just jump on one to see what they sound like.
 
Chinese tube amps mean business IMO... Pretty high quality for the most part.

Hopefully those transformers are actually toroidal and not standard with round cans surrounding them... That's something I just can't stand.

My bet would be a toroidal power transformer, with EI core output transformers. Pretty common configuration for Chinese amps with round transformer cans. I am also surprised how many different Chinese amps have adopted the Mullard-with-an-SRPP-gain-stage configuration. Not really a bad setup, if the OPT can deliver the goods.
 
Yes, 70 Euros is approx. 108 USD. Very cheap for this kind of setup.

If the power transformer is toroid and the output transformers are standard then that's fine in my book. I just feel toroidal power supplies offer slightly better high frequency response and smoother presentation. This looks like a neat company as well, the other products on their page look nice
 
Some of my friends and i own the Yaqin MC10L and it is a very good amp. But the original tubes (EL34b)are a bit microphonic so a little humm heared in the speakers. We all changed the EL34b tubes for JJ KT77 or EH 6CA7 and the humm is gone. The other tubes are very good. The sound is like the real tube sound, warm with nice tide bass and soft hightones. Here in the Netherlands and Germany it is the best buy for the money. About tube CD players from china look for de MHZS 33,66 or 88 players they also are best buy for the money and have a great modding potential. Spending $ 20,- for parts on a MHZS 33 ( costing $ 250,-) you get a player beating $ 1000,- plus players. Look at these links:

I also own the yaqin MC100b, yaqin MC 300B, Yaqin 6V6, Audioromy FU29 and Audioromy FU13. Heard the Yaqin 5881, Yarland MC34IIIc.

My favourit is the Audioromy FU13 this amp plays with the detail and space of a 300B amp and the power and basscontrol of a PP KT88 amp.

I'm expecting my MC100b in today. I heard a friends a couple of weeks ago and was blown away by the sound. Rivals a Mac 240s midrange characteristic, pushes bass even better. I ordered one the next day.

Interesting about the Audioromy. I've been watching that one on the bay. Maybe that one will be next. Any coments on the others Koifarm?
 
I've been looking at the MC-100B myself and may give it a try, it certainly looks good....:scratch2:

The MC 100b is the most powerfull yaqin has a better basscontroll as the MC10l and the hightones have more detail as the mc10l. The MC300b has the most detail and staging but has bad basscontrol because of the low power but is perfect for > 97db speakers. MC5881 sounds like MC10l and yaqin 6v6 sounds like EL84 amps.

I just got a MC 10 L and love it to death, my friend gave it to me and said I would love it. Having been used to much more expensive gear I was doubtful, until I turned it on. It has been blowing my mind for 2 days now, super musical, great, great tone , my speakers are having an affair with this amp, and my ears are very happy.
Once you get past the fact that is is cheap, from China, you will love it.
C,mon, we have expensive stuff, the tubes in my preamp cost more than this amp!, IT is hard at first to accept this, but believe your ears, it is staying!

I've had a ShengYa CD-S10 for 3 or so years. Damn fine CD player. I did upgrade the tube from stock to a Brimar......C
