SD-1100 Has Arrived! - Question

Greetings fellow AK'ers,

The tower of silver has been waiting for some time to have the last piece added and it has finally arrived. An SD-1100 in excellent (and working) condition. I have a question for other owners of this beautiful piece of gear: should there be a light that illuminates the plastic scope cover so that the printed lines can be seen while operating the scope? I've seen this on many other scopes which is why I ask.
Also, I noticed that the manual database only has the service manual. As I’m disappointed in the condition of the operator’s manual I received with the unit, I was hoping an AK member might have a scanned copy.

Attached is a pic for your viewing pleasure…

OHHH, you lucky bastard. I hate you.

No, seriously fantastic pickup. Congrats! I'm sure you know how rare this baby is.

Ditto. :)

Sorry I can't help with the owners manual but she is just beautiful. One of Pioneers coolest pieces.

So what is the rest of your tower of silver that this goes with?

Hi there XLBEE I can answer the question about the scope as I also own of these rare monsters :) There is no lamp or illumination for the scope graticule. I know what you mean as most scopes have back lighting for the graticule, maybe Pioneer didn't think it was necessary at the time.

To be honest I had no idea how 'rare' this unit was until I found out on here.
The only thing with mine is that one of the VU display lamps has blown, and it looks like a missing tooth when its on! I took the cover off some years ago to see how easy it would be, from memory, the meter looked to be a sealed unit? I could be wrong though. I got mine for $40 NZD! Mind you that was about 10 years ago. They are cool looking machine, especially at night!:D

Cheers
Glen

The cabinets are just surplus roll front office equipment that I keep my redorded media in. The winky smiley face is because the laptop and turntable drawers are custom made by myself to look like Pioneer equipment. See the attached...

Thanks for the info, especially the term "graticule". I should have known that from "reticle" of rifle scope terminology. Mine cost me substantially more than yours.

Still hoping someone may have a scan of the owner's manual...
