yes i`m familiar with system. i had the chorus of byob stuck in my head all last weekend. i like the band, Aerials is a great tune and i love the video with the alien kid but they have the strange tendency to jump from speedy metal to rhythm very quickly and i feel their music gets convoluted.
now i guess system is on hiatus serj is pushing his solo career. that song is ok, but serj looks kinda perverted around those small kids. just my opinion.

Based on that song (alone), I'd say the guy doesn't have the greatest voice. He tries to do his best with it, and isn't all that bad, but the result almost borders on satirical, the way it comes across.
Someone else with a darker/heavier voice and a bit more tight intensity could take that same song, and do a version of it that could sweep the charts, so to speak. The song isn't bad; it has potential. It's the performance that isn't quite up to the potential of the song, IMO. Not real bad, but just a little "short" of what it could have and should have been.
I won't be the least bit surprised if some other group covers it with a slightly different arrangement and a different-sounding vocalist, and ends up with a hit.
I'm speaking of it purely as music, not in terms of any political message.
