help with The fisher

Newbie here
Trying to find out more info on this unit. Any help would be great. I will try to post more pics later. It was givin to me from a man that passed aways family I am trying to find out what year it is i know it has a garrand 4 speed turntable. I also have the two extra stereo speakers that go with the unit. All in working condition. Played a few albums last night. Works Great and awsome sound

The model number on the tuner says 440-T; there may be a matching 440-A amp in there also; maybe you can post a few more pics. If it does have the 440-A amp, that would be a stereo PP 6BQ5 amp with 7247s & 12AX7s. No doubt one of the console experts will be able to ID the console model.
 
No doubt, a very nice item. It could be brought back to like new status very easy. Certainly worth saving IMHO...
 
That is one beautiful Fisher all in one you have there. The Garrard turntable is a model 210. My guess is that this unit is from about 1960 - 1961. This is well worth cleaning up and restoring. Good listening.

If it is a 440-T then it must be an early production unit since it has leftover chassis from 1961 - the '62 should have a 460-T & 460-A. I gave a 1960 Custom Electra III to my sister-in-law last Christmas and it sounded great but now needs some more attention. Her Fisher also has a Garrard 210. It looked just about like yours before I cleaned it up - yours should clean up nicely, too.

Very nice.. Hope you can get it all cleand up and working 100%...

As a side note, I hope you're not playing any of your good LPs with that "copper tweak" added to the tone arm.. a new stylus is probably in short order..

Actually, TheRed1, taking another look at that photo above it might be a 460-T - I was going by the fuzzy model number lettering in the pic, which is not that clear an my eyes are not that good anymore, so my initial response of it being a 440-T may be in error.
 
the model # in picture is 460-T and it has a 460-a tuner thanks for all the info so far here are a few more pics will try to take some better ones

In the picture of the console's back side you can see the outline where your tube layout diagram used to be which would have given you your specific model number. If you're lucky it might be stashed under the turntable. I'm guessing it was an E-46X-W; the cabinet wood looks like walnut to me and I can't tell for sure but I think I see the multiplex section in the tuner.

Hi KMS, It's beatiful. Did you happen to find any manuals? I also own a 460A, amplifier but not the preamp/tuner. This unit is mated and draws its source of power from the amp. I am curious as to the load the preamp draws. There are actually several people on the net searching for this info. Thank you very much for your time, Mike
 
jack hack sorry no manuals but i will see what i can do

thered1 the multiplex section in the tunersays on it MPX-70 and the extra speakers are like the ones above and sound amazing i will post a few pics soon

Thanks KMS, I keep looking back @ the pictures, that is going to make one beautiful restoration.I'd be glad to offer any help, if I can, Please keep us up with all your moves, not many of these left for our enjoyment as a whole. I own a Fisher SA300, pretty close to mint with nice caps etc, and I've read these have an even more naturalness to the midsection. Gives me chicken skin.

COMAN could that be true? you have a copy of the schematic!!
I would be the happiest soldering iron fool with a copy.

Don't you love peeking into a chassis for the first time and seeing those original Tele's and Mullards still where they ought to be?
