That 480 chassis shore is purdy and about all I would have kept- (I'm a console slayer) Are you planning on restoring the entire unit including the furniture? Aligning that tuner should be fun, could you find a SAMs for it???

The knife switches were installed (I assume) by the PO to enable easier connection of external speakers. I bought the unit from his estate and his daughter said that he was something of an electronics tinkerer and had wired the house with speakers to be driven from this console. He bought the unit new.

The "Poor Man's Variac" is complete!
Next is the 480-A chassis, fresh from 2 hours in the oven @170 degrees (upside down).
After having passed a 25 watt bulb test with no tubes installed, I've now ramped-up to a 52 watt bulb with the tubes re-installed (the bulb isn't nearly as bright as it appears in the picture). Looking good so far. :thmbsp: Going to let let run at this voltage for an hour or two before going up to the 100 watt bug light. Then, a couple more hours there.

Yes, I am planning on keeping it as a complete unit. The furniture is in such amazing condition, to do otherwise, would be an audio sin (IMHO).
I have been unable to find anything on either of these chassis, other than a schematic graciously emailed to me by an AK member. A service manual would be a God-send right now!

Did you search that awesome thread with Fisher consoles on it? Pershaps there is someone who posted your model that you could e-mail to see if they have one?

Yep, been all through Red's Fisher thread and came up empty. There is, apparently, so little information on these chassis that I am flying a little blind. Not just by the lack of info, but compounded by the fact that this is my first tube anything! But, I can't put into words how enthusiastic and excited I am by this thing. I, quite literally, shake when I touch it and its components. It truly is beautiful!!!
