Scott Console Info?

I picked up this console yesterday. It's a very nice sounding piece but I cant seem to find any information on it. The one ID tag on the unit was torn in half.
The half with the model number no longer exists. The layout is as follows:

Garrard 4sp TT

Amp= 2x 12AX7
2x 6AV6
2x 6U8
4x 6BQ5
The amp has separate bass,treble and volume control for each side. There is also a master volume.

Tuner= The tuner also has a volume control

Speakers are all alnico type= 1x 12in woofer, 2x 4in oval mids, 1x odd looking tweeter on each side. I'll get some picts of the speakers to post

Any info would be appreciated.

I will eventually begin a restoration on it. This was a spur of the moment purchase, and is pretty far down on the to do list.
 
Methinks that's a Canadian Scott, not an HH Scott. The Canadian company integrated Stromberg Carlson components and it looks like you have an ASR-433 variant. No slouch of an amp.
 
Your console looks like it might be an Italian Provincial version of this 1959 Scott Custom "Stereophone". I'm not 100% certain but the overall configuration looks right. I haven't run across any ads featuring Italian Provincial Scott Custom designs unfortunately. I believe the Stereophone model number was 470 in 1959 and 480 in 1960. List prices in '59 were $349.50 for phonograph only, $429.50 with the radio. In 1960 the phonograph only Stereophone was $399.95, $499.95 with the radio. Scott Customs often sold at substantial discounts, however, probably because the company was in its death throes. I would be interested in seeing what your console looks like from the front.

No doubt in my mind....

...that's a SC ASR-433. $60 is a score just for the amp, not counting the tuner or all the rest of the console components. I've posted a bunch on my ASR-433 restore, and you also have one of the best SC resources anywhere in Tom Bavis here on AK. I hope to have another one coming myself, and if so, I'd replace every cap in the darn thing, and add a suppressor cap between the switched AC socket terminals. I'd also check all the resistor values as I went through and replaced caps.

Once that amp is up to speed, it will knock your socks off.....:thmbsp:

I'd also PM Tom and ask him what the tuner might be. You might want to check out his site, listed in his public profile....

thats very similar to the stereo my grandfather had when i was a kid. been trying to figure out what kind it was, and now i know it was a Scott (not an HH Scott, as i thought.) wish i knew where it got to...
