My DCM TimeFrame 400's are sick

Hey all,

I got my DCM's last month and spent a weekend in pure audio bliss.

I was able to repeat that this last weekend.

Ok, but now I got a problem. I don't know if this is something that happened after I got them, or before...but my tweeters on my left speaker are DEAD. I didn't freak out at first, I pulled the crossovers and checked the fuse...it was good. GOOD! So I swapped crossovers.....crossover is fine.

I disconnected everything but the tweeters from the crossovers and, sure enough, no sound from the left channel.

What are the chances they're blown...I'm guessing since no one had removed the crossover, pretty good.

The question is....where do I get replacements and what do I need or are these things destined for a dump afterall?

And to think, I was in total sonic bliss this weekend...i couldn't notice the blown tweeter at all.

if they are the same tweeters as used in the 600's I got then from PE a couple years back!

Was it pretty easy to get inside the TF400? From the back or front?

My TimeWindows are impossible to get into. (for me)
 
The TF seems to be easy to open up. Back of my 350s comes off revealing all. The way to get to the drivers is remove the top or bottom panel and roll the sock to access the drivers. But the 12" x 30" opening on the back reveals a lot of the guts.

My TWs are also the early version. I hope I never have to go into them. The woofers are glued in and the tops and bottoms are glued to the tube.

The TW 1a has a chunk of all thread screwed into the bottom of the top panel that goes through the speaker and a nut holds the bottom panel on to this all thread.

Not normal speaker construction for any of these.
 
I honestly haven't torn them apart, im waiting till I get tweeters.
However, im not sure of what size/type I need so, I'm debating on if I should tear them open to measure. I'm hoping some kind soul might of told me what I need size/specs wise but no such luck. I've got a small tweeter from a klh satellite that looks like it'd fit/work...but without knowing where the other one is that's useless.

I'm really not concerned about spending money on good replacement tweeters since I've got virtually nothing in them (I was on the clock when they were given to me so I was being paid while getting them).

So, for the time being, they're sitting in a corner of the basement awaiting repair (and hopefuly the bag with the screws for the crossovers is still with 'em)
