Hot buy on Ebay

I just recieved my first purchase from ebay (Marantz 4415 reciever) and I must say what a "HOT" deal I got. Before bidding I did ask the seller if he had tested all 4 speaker outputs and he said yes that they all worked. Do you think after looking at the pics he was fudging the truth ? Do you think I might have a good case for getting my money back? On the plus side it did have the hard to find Marantz SQA-1 adapter installed in it but after seeing the pics do you think it would be safe to install in the other "working" Marantz 4415 I have?

The seller will just say it was damaged during shipping.:D

No way it worked.

That's the power amp board isn't it? That's too bad. :thumbsdn: Looks like that cap let go with everything it had. If you know how to solder, you might be able to fix it. And yes, I'd do everything I could to get my money back, caps don't burn and explode in shipping.

theres 2 boards its a 4 channel (Quadraphonic) reciever so I should only ask for "half" my money back ?:nono:

I would go to dirty deeds done dirt cheap on the craigs list in his area and hire a big mean biker to go settle this for you even if it costs more than the price of the Marantz.
Why? becase this guy needs his goat rocked.Just haveing a big ugly biker roll up at your home with a picture of your stereo and asking how far he will go to make things right so he dosent have to come back and deal with him gose along way.

File a complaint with paypal if they won't give you a refund & if they want it back , make them pay return shipping .

No not yet I've messaged the seller requesting a full refund and I will give him a couple days to respond. If he chooses not to respond I will then persue it with both Ebay and the U.S.P.S. it was paid for using a U.S.P.S. money order

Did it ship USPS? Maybe he committed mail fraud by sending you a 'working amp' only to have you find out that it was misrepresented and is very much not working... :scratch2:

Try to pressure him from that angle, maybe? Refund or... criminal fraud charges? :smoke:

From my understanding it is a form of mail fraud which is exactly how I intend to persue Now the important question is- just what kind of "feedback" should I leave for him on Ebay :D:D:D and yes he did ship it USPS
