Boston Acoustics A60 - Measurements

No tweeter in one, and its woofer's open, so I installed a JBL 116H, instead, Blue, which balances better with the stock tweeter.

With nearfield LF response of the JBL normalized -1.8 dB at 500 Hz, it still plays lower frequencies with more SPL, and reaches 2 Hz lower than the stock woofer, 42.6 Hz (-6 dB):

Minimalist polyfill damping, and a crossover even Minimus 7s put to shame, these are prime upgrade candidates:

Edit: Installed R-13 fiberglass damping all around, which restored the stock bass "voice," and lowered the -6 dB frequency another 2.2 Hz to 39.4 Hz, for a total improved bass extension of 5.2 Hz w/JBL 116H woofer.

Hey Zilch if you're out there and see this I have a few questions: Did you replace the original caps in the crossovers? if so what value did you replace it with? and any brand/mfg suggestion?

Sorry, Zilch can't answer anymore. :(
But his thousands of posts have so much help and information. :thmbsp:

Boston's usually have it clearly marked on their caps what value they are. An upgrade to poly caps is a worthwhile upgrade. This I found out on my Boston HD7's.
I went with the stock values and used Dayton's.

Right on man, I've heard good thing about Dayton. Thanks for sharing.
