Orpheus Silex and a couple of questions.

Last week I picked up the Orpheus which I think would be very unfamiliar to most, if not all on this forum. Made in Melbourne, Australia in 1959, it's a broadcast table (Transcription, whatever that means?) and came with a Decca tonearm fitted with the Decca ffss cart + a spare.

Now to my main question....the tonearm wiring.
There is a braided wire from the tonearm which has 3 very fine wires, green, yellow and red. The yellow appears no have no purpose at all and it seems that the red is left and the green is right with the external copper braid being the earth. ATM I have it very temporarily connected for the purpose of testing and it works beautifully with my sacrificial record (Phil Collins' Face Value :D)
I just want to verify that this is the way to go before I finalize the setup as I don't want to overdo the soldering on these very fine wires.

As always, I would appreciate any input but I do realize that it would be unfamiliar to most.

I have written about some of my experience redoing and plinthing my Orpheus, here http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/showthread.php/18487-Orpheus-Silex-worthwhile-project

in answer to the thread begun by Dustin. Dustin has dropped out of the discussion, so I am willing to pick it up here.

I have no experience with Decca arms, however.
